Dr. Patricia Bradshaw, an administrator and professor at the Schulich School of Business, York University, has been named the new Dean of the Sobey School of Business.

"Dr. Bradshaw brings a wealth of experience to the position including leadership roles in course development, administration, planning and priorities, and international business," says David Gauthier, Saint Mary's Vice President Academic and Research.

"The search for a Dean was an extensive process involving considerable commitment from faculty and members of the Search Committee. I am confident Dr. Bradshaw is the right choice to build on the School’s foundation of excellence."

Dr. Bradshaw succeeds Dr. David Wicks whose term ended in June 2011. Dr. Gordon Fullerton has served as Acting Dean since July 1. He will continue to serve as Acting Dean until Dr. Bradshaw joins the School on June 1.

"I look forward to the challenge of the position," said Dr. Bradshaw. "When I was on campus, I was impressed with the energy of the Saint Mary's community and the willingness of people to share ideas."

A Professor of Organization Studies at Schulich, Dr. Bradshaw holds a cross-appointment with the Graduate Program in Women’s Studies at York University. She has served as the MBA Program Director and was involved in the development and approval of the new Executive MBA with the Kellogg School of Business. She served as Chair of the York University Senate as well as Chair of the Senate Executive Committee, the Senate Equity Committee, and the Senate Committee on Admission, Recruitment and Student Awards.
