Come Face 2 Face With CIDA

There’s a new face on campus.

Saint Mary’s University has partnered with the Canadian International Development Agency to bring a new exhibit to campus called “Face2Face with entrepreneurs who think big!”

Meet Tatu Juma from Tanzania (the women seen in the photo to the right). She heads a successful business in her community. Her story presents an example of how empowering women in developing countries help contribute to a community's-and a country's-economic growth.

Tatu Juma is currently travelling across Canada in the form of life-size cutout figure, and she’s finally arrived to Saint Mary’s University.  Juma’s figure is marked with a "Quick Response" code that, when scanned with a smartphone, takes you to videos about her work in Tanzania.

The exhibit was created to give students an opportunity to learn more about some of the beneficiaries of CIDA-supported projects in developing countries.

If you’re searching for Juma on campus, she’ll be in the following locations.

Library:

February 6th – 10th

Student Union Building:
February 13th – 17th

Loyola Colonnade:

February 20rd – 24th
